Biografija

CHRISTIANAS FRATTIMA smuiką paėmė būdamas vos ketverių ir jau tuomet visus stebino savo talentu. Pirmąjį koncertą surengė dvylikos metų, atliko N. Paganini Cantabile, op. 17, ir kitus sunkiai „lukštenamus“ kūrinius. Vieną po kito skynė apdovanojimus konkursuose, 2003 m. gavo garbingą Italijos vyriausybės apdovanojimą.

2005 m. pradėjo dirigavimo studijas Sofijoje (Bulgarija) pas Deyaną Pavlovą. 2006 m. tęsė mokslus lydimas maestro Ennio Nicotros, dalyvavo įvairiuose tarptautiniuose tokių grandų, kaip Valerijus Gergijevas ir Jorma Panula, meistriškumo kursuose.

2007 m. pradėjo studijas pas profesorių Juozą Domarką. Ch. Frattimos dirigavimo orkestrui rezultatai buvo įvertinti maksimaliais balais. Netrukus pradėjo dirbti Nacionalinėje filharmonijoje Vilniuje dirigento padėjėju, 2010 m. tapo Klaipėdos valstybinio muzikinio teatro dirigentu.

Ch. Frattima yra dirigavęs W. A. Mozarto „Figaro vedybų“ (rež. Emilio Sagi) ir G. Verdi „Otelo“ (rež. Eimuntas Nekrošius) nacionalinėms premjeroms, su žymiais orkestrais koncertavo Vilniaus, Maskvos, Sankt Peterburgo, Rygos ir Kaliningrado muzikos akademijų auditorijose.

Ch. Frattima nuolat diriguoja garsiausiose pasaulio operų scenose, koncertuoja su simfoninias orkestrais, jį lydi publikos simpatijos ir kritikų pripažinimas.

Christian Frattima, born in 1984, began studying the violin at the age of four, showing considerable artistic talent. He held his first concert at the age of 12, performing the Cantabile Op.17 of Paganini and other pieces with high interpretational difficulty. He won various violin competitions at an early age and graduated with the maximum score, honours and honourable mention at the ministry (major praise in Italy) in 2003, at the age of 19. He perfected his violin studies with Pasquale Pellegrino as teacher, and began studying conducting in 2005 in Sofia (Bulgaria) with Maestro Dejan Pavlov. In 2006, he continued his conducting studies with Maestro Ennio Nicotra and participated in various international masterclasses with Maestros such as Valery Gergiev and Jorma Panula.

In 2007, he began studying with Maestro Juozas Domarkas, under whose tutelage he graduated in Symphony Orchestra Conducting at the Lithuanian National Academy in 2011, with a score of 10/10. In 2009, Christian Frattima graduated in Economics, took part in an international masterclass with Eri Klas, and began working as assistant conductor of the Vilnius Philharmonic. In 2010, he became theatre conductor in Klaipeda where, among the various concerts and repertory operas, he conducted the national premiere of “L’incoronazione di Poppea” by C. Monteverdi, directed by Jurate Wensk. He became company conductor at the Vilnius Opera House, where he co-conducted the national premieres of “Le nozze di Figaro” by Mozart (a Spanish-Lithuanian co-production directed by the great Spanish director Emilio Sagi) and “Othello” by Giuseppe Verdi, directed by Eimuntas Nekrosius. In the same year, he conducted several concerts in the auditoriums of the music academies of Vilnius, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Riga and Kaliningrad, with their respective orchestras.

In March 2011, Frattima was chosen by the Ministry of the Interior to conduct the official concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy in Lithuania together with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. In April 2011, the Francesco Cilea Theatre of ​​Reggio Calabria engaged him as conductor for the operas “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni and “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leoncavallo, under the direction of Alessio Pizzech. Christian Frattima met with great success among audiences and critics. In May of the same year, Christian Frattima held a series of European Rococo music concerts with the Lithuanian National Chamber Orchestra (LNKO). In October, he conducted the Bulgarian National Orchestra of Plovdiv performing Dmitry D. Shostakovic’s Fifth Symphony, the overture from “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” by Richard Wagner, and the second concerto for piano and orchestra by Sergej Rachmaninov. In December, the young conductor was invited to conduct in Russia, in the cities of Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg, Nizhny-Novgorod and Severodvinsk. In the latter city, he was the first Italian in modern history to conduct, after a seventy-year closure of the Soviet city to foreigners for military reasons. In January 2013, Frattima conducted in Petrazavodsk in Russia, where he performed “The Nutcracker” by Piotr I. Tchaikovsky in the Karelian theatre. In March, he conducted the symphony orchestra of Novosibirsk, performing works by César Franck, Alfred G. Schnittke and Alban Berg. In October, Christian Frattima was invited by the State Orchestra of the city of Astrakhan (Russia) for a series of concerts, and on this occasion, he received formal appointment as guest conductor of the city from the director of the Philharmonic.

In May 2015, Frattima conducted the Italian HIP premiere of Handel’s opera “Xerxes”, directed by Valentino Klose at Milan’s Teatro Litta and Venice’s Teatro Goldoni. The critics have acclaimed the performances. In October 2015, he conducted the Italian HIP premiere of Mozart’s opera “Apollo et Hyacinthus” at Milan’s Teatro Litta, and in December Pergolesis’s dyptich “La Serva Padrona-Livietta and tracollo”, under the direction of Athos Collura, collecting again two indubitable successes. In July he conducted Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” directed by Susanna Guerrini. Presently Frattima is artistic director of Coin du Roi – Société d’Opéra, the first and only Italian baroque opera company.

Frattima is the author of more than 10 monographs in English, Italian and Lithuanian. Cristian Frattima, speaks 4 languages ​​in addition to Italian: English, French, German and Lithuanian.
